Art Museum · Hidden Gem · Traveler Resource
Tour the magnificent structure of San Francisco Plaza, Church and Monastery as you appreciate its decoration and architecture. Originally founded in 1522, the building has withstood earthquakes and more over its centuries of history. Be sure to explore the outside grounds and view the imposing architecture that gives the church an almost military look. Once inside, you embrace a softer atmosphere as you approach shrines to the patron saint. These ornate areas make for good photo opportunities, and unlike most South American churches, you are allowed to take photos inside, just remember to be respectful and quiet.
