Mundo Alpaca, Arequipa

(3.9/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Head to Mundo Alpaca to tour the farm and perhaps buy some hand-woven alpaca clothing. The tour will take you through the process of producing the wool and give an actual demonstration of the clothing being woven into a finished garment with exquisite patterns. Along the way you’ll be able to pet and feed with the alpacas and llamas and, of course, buy some of the final products yourself. • We went to see this factory/store of camelid wool. Very nice, since it has on display some specimens (llamas, alpacas) allow you to take photos and see the manufacturing process.

  • An interesting show to learn to know the different types to differences with the vicuña and alpaca. Fairly complete: alpacas in corrales, displays of old machinery, process to select the threads, hip live loom.

  • I suppose this is an attraction but you enter through the store, which has very nice alpaca clothing for sale. Out back, there's a small pen with some alpacas. There's also a mini- museum showing the ...  more »

  • Nice place to learn about the famous Ilama and Alpaca. There you can see live animals, the raw wool materials and live weaving by a local lady Peruvian weaver.
  • A big store with alpaca and vicuña wool articles. But the nice thing here is that there us a small museum type exhibition of where the wool comes from and how it is processed to the consumer articles. Worth a half hour visit for sure.
  • Petting zoo, education and a (pricey) gift shop. Worth seeing and learning about the Llama, Alpaca and Vicuna
  • Great short activity near town if you wanted to see a range of different Alpaca and Lama. They have some sign boards showing the manufacture to the final product. Oh and it's free to have a look around!
  • Great place to get an alpaca selfie! Also excellent museum and shop.
