Mundo Alpaca, Arequipa

(140+ reviews on the web)
Landmark Tourist Spot
Head to Mundo Alpaca to tour the farm and perhaps buy some hand-woven alpaca clothing. The tour will take you through the process of producing the wool and give an actual demonstration of the clothing being woven into a finished garment with exquisite patterns. Along the way you’ll be able to pet and feed with the alpacas and llamas and, of course, buy some of the final products yourself. • Free visit to let you know more about Alpaca and the industry here.
  • A big store with alpaca and vicuña wool articles. But the nice thing here is that there us a small museum type exhibition of where the wool comes from and how it is processed to the consumer articles. Worth a half hour visit for sure.
  • a bit to touristic for me. If you want to buy expensive Alpaca stuff, this is your spot.
  • Nice place to learn about the famous Ilama and Alpaca. There you can see live animals, the raw wool materials and live weaving by a local lady Peruvian weaver.
  • Great short activity near town if you wanted to see a range of different Alpaca and Lama. They have some sign boards showing the manufacture to the final product. Oh and it's free to have a look around!
