El Misti, Arequipa

(700 reviews on the web)
Volcano
Standing tall above the city, El Misti is visible from just about anywhere in town. The 5,822 m (19,101 ft) volcano watches over the inhabitants, but many choose to get much closer by attempting to reach the top of this active volcano. The locals recommend booking a guided trek if you’re hoping to reach the summit, as this is a difficult climb due to the need to acclimatize. Be prepared with lots of layers, hat, and gloves as the air on your way can be surprisingly chilly. You'll experience unmatched views from the top. Put El Misti on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Arequipa holiday planner.

  • The mixed, wherever you look, wields an incredible charm. Stands on the plateau with its conical shape, distinguishing, distinctive from all other volcanoes that even higher, does not have the same appeal.

  • We just got back from climbing the Misti. Nothing wrong to say of the wonder of volcano and the beautiful of the rise, worth doing so. CONSTRUCTIVE criticism: 1 – watch the ratio guia-turistas of the agencies. We've gone 7 people with 1 Guide and 1 Assistant. Remember that more people, more likely that not everyone can do it and therefore that ends up affecting the entire group and no one reach the top. 2. during my trip to South America and the various promotions that I have done I have realized that sold certain fairly high mountains as "easy rise" i this is one of them. Easy does not mean that anyone can do it. It is a volcano of 5,800 m easy with regard to many other peaks of that height. In our ascent, we have made top 4 7 single people. Of course, that also depends on the fate of the group that touch you but in my case, in the section that is made the first day, which is relatively easy compared with the stretch from the camp to the top, there were people who could not do it by the physical requirement. Those people lasted 1 h of rise (of 7 h in total) the second day and had that down. What I want to say with all this is that there is a responsibility both from the Agency and the person make sure that you have good physical and mental condition since it can be dangerous and also (less important) affects the rest of the group.

  • Quechua explorer accused at the time already hangs jefecito that thing that happened with young that forced to work in bad conditions and you happened what you happened in the misti. Because this jefecillo is really rafael or rafael jorge. Already long since huarás you want to put hand since have realized what type of false and lack of excrupulos which pursues only his personal greed, deemed unacceptable by the compareneros mountain but this malncido is a pestosa rat is has been going it with yours. For now they will get and as the poor have to remove platita because they will let it do excursions exclusively up to the mirador de yanahuara course no more foreigners already which has damaged quite the image of the place and it has left much to be desired, now sbs rafaelete far we get rat pestosa envidsa.
