Putucusi Mountain, Aguas Calientes

4.2/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web
Scale Putucusi Mountain to traverse a recently discovered Incan trail and view the far side of Machu Picchu. The trail starts with a wire climb up the side of the mountain. As you continue on, ladders are available for climbing, though some areas still require the use of upper body strength to go further. These aspects make the trail difficult for anyone not in good physical shape, but if you are determined and able enough, you can reach the summit. Those who have climbed it before suggest bringing grip gloves and good hiking shoes.
