Ciudad Del Este, Ciudad Del Este
(2.1/5 based on 1,700+ reviews on the web)
Join the thousands of Brazilians and Argentines who flock across the border every day to grab a bargain at Ciudad Del Este. Known for its inexpensive consumer goods (especially electronics), the bustling market offers a chaotic but often entertaining shopping experience. Keep in mind, however, that the market has a well-deserved reputation as a hotbed for contraband, and you might suddenly find yourself being pushed to buy anything from drugs to guns. Watch out for pickpockets in the surrounding area. • It's been 2 years since my last visit in Ciudad del Este. And much has changed. Despite the high-dollar, still pays off, especially if you are the ride.

  • It is a good place to go to buy, but you have to be very cautious. People usually will be offering many things, mostly tourists and complete them conducting clandestine places where are trying to sell their products (counterfeit, clearly) at very low prices. You must buy in established local and well look at the characteristics of the product, since many imitations are sold. Trade closes after 4 o'clock and it becomes a dangerous city so taxi drivers that go over there told us. Nobody respects the traffic laws and all run like crazy. Apart from being a place to go to buy, you don't have much tourist attraction.

  • The city is a mess! All messy, crazy traffic, people everywhere, tents that sell everything you can imagine and many stalls. However, it is a lot of fun and a great place to buy. If you want unique products search shopping malls, like the Mona Lisa, Paris, Shopping Mall del este (outlets), and others. Walk or bike taxi. The crossing is very quiet and safe, but it's a long one. Also has a bus that makes the crossing (prefer paid it in Guaraní, is cheaper than in real. But if you just have real costs 5.00).

  • They should concentrate on their work, which is to provide the basic services (water, paving, sewer, collecting trash, etc) to every district of the city. Living 30 years in cde and the "neighborhood" where it is located my house all services I have mentioned were with private companies. It is regrettable, since being contributing and having taxes a day, pay for services that are not I provided. On receipt of the tax figure until they swept the sidewalk and over 30 years never even saw pass a truck of municipal garbage on our street that was paved with the help of the neighbors on the block could hire a private company and made the work of the aforementioned institution in question.

  • I like all the works carried out in the administration of Sandra Zacaria, until today, only I want to have a say in the only sense that is implementing the Lake of the Republic, is not well alrrededor being that Ciudad del Este has no output and has a single access, the same reference Avenue, was being útilizadas by many motorist, there are hospitals such as IPS TESAI, and other Sanatarios by which it circulated its ambulances, and today will only serve for rolling walkers and cyclists pedestrians that are molded artery and night serves to play the disoriented according to my umilde race opinion and precise observation. (It won't serve for quick exit must fill lomada or hazard to be sure.).
