Plaza Uruguaya, Asuncion

(3/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
Take a break from sightseeing at Plaza Uruguaya, a quaint plaza originally the location of the Convent of San Francisco during colonial times. Today people stop to relax on a bench and watch the life of the city go by in this small plaza. Take in the surrounding statues and greenery, or go shopping for a souvenir at the small huts that sell items, particularly Spanish books. On the outskirts of the plaza sit small cafes, or check out the nearby historical train station to see some of the standing history of the area. Put Plaza Uruguaya into our Asuncion travel itinerary maker and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • An unattractive square, as in all big cities quite pixada, has 3 cebos/bookstores (not entered). Wooded lot. Serves more as a resting place for those who work near.

  • Square is very clean, safe, usually organize many events of all kinds, located in an excellent place, it lacks a little more array at certain points, but is very good, has 3 bookstores and many trees...

  • It is part of a radius of 3 km approximately, where much of the historic centre of Asunción. In times of schools is filled it is a meeting point of several schools in the area

  • A must see and visit while in Paraguay. From souvenirs to beautiful views of the harbor , this plaza is 21st century world class facility in a struggling economy.
  • Not much here for a tourist to see. Just an oasis of green in the urban landscape. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and it seemed to be a pretty friendly place. Kids were were playing on the swing sets, young parents were walking their toddlers, and lovers were cuddling on the benches.
  • Sometimes this park is great but other times its just OK. A nice place to sit on a bench and relax, unless there is someone asleep on it
  • Nice park
  • ¡HERMOSA!
