Where to stay in Asuncion

Most of Asuncion's best hotels cluster in the city center, which can be crowded and noisy throughout the day. Less expensive options near the main bus terminal draw backpackers and other budget travelers, providing few amenities but quick links to public transport. For longer stays, consider renting a furnished apartment, which ensures more space and privacy, plus the chance to cook your own food in a fully equipped kitchen.

  • A great collection that showcases the work of some of Paraguay's most dedicated scientists. A collection of items from indigenous tribes and photos taken by the scientists. Open every day until around 4. It is locked up, however an attendant will open the door when called for. No entrance fee.
