  • The neighborhood is nothing more than a good looking slum. At the beginning of the tour, the first impression is that I fell into a cold, as it is a neighborhood away, humble, a little afraid to walk alone. But then you realize that the locals are very welcoming and receptive. Everyone greeted me with a hearty "buenas tardes", while taking your tererés. There is a staircase that resembles that of Rio de Janeiro, which leads to a high point of the neighborhood, where there is a gazebo. The funny this viewpoint is that you pass in the middle of the houses of the people, and the Observatory itself is on the floor of a residence, which keep the gate open for tourists to climb. It's a nice, simple neighborhood, but no options for eating or drinking, everything was practically closed. But no big deal.

  • Full building and social recovery area. In principle gives a bit of fear to get but I think being a daytime visit there is risk. Surely with the passage of time be strengthened more and will be a great attraction to visit.

Where to stay in Asuncion

Most of Asuncion's best hotels cluster in the city center, which can be crowded and noisy throughout the day. Less expensive options near the main bus terminal draw backpackers and other budget travelers, providing few amenities but quick links to public transport. For longer stays, consider renting a furnished apartment, which ensures more space and privacy, plus the chance to cook your own food in a fully equipped kitchen.
