  • We have migrated last week on the pipeline road and it was real. At the beginning, it is still a wider gravel road on which from time to driving a car to the rainforest Discovery Center. Later however it is a trail and you are pretty much alone. We were in the morning against 7 there and saw many sweet Kapuzineräffchen, howler monkeys, sloths, toucans and some other colourful birds and butterflies. We went there on foot from the Gamboa rainforest resort (hotel). Although tours are offered, or take a taxi. The bus stops themselves only in the village of Gamboa. Tip: In Gamboa's is a small mini market, to buy food. It is not easy to find but drawn in Google maps and friendly local residents are happy to help. Occasionally, a parking attendant at the entrance of the pipeline road, the 5 is probably $ is required. With us no one was found. We weren't in the Discovery Center. Please respect the environment, remains on the path and leave no waste!

  • From the Rainforest resort in Sobernaina National Park I took the Aerial tour. It was good - but for two main reasons: 1) The incredible view from the top 2) Was able to hear and then see many Howler ...  more »

  • If you like Planet Earth or NatGeo, you'll probably enjoy this park. I'd recommend going really early in the morning when everything is still active. We saw a variety of monkeys, birds, amphibians, and insects. Bring binoculars, climb up the tower and get a view of the canopy and all the birds flying around.
  • Lots of well-preserved rainforest adjacent to one hotel, at least two b&b and the Gamboa Rainforest Discovery Center. Makes it possible to explore the park and go back to the comforts of the modern world. Rent a car or make arrangements for land transportation because the public transport service is very poor and unreliable.
  • In the Gambia resort we managed to find a really good turist guide
  • This is an amazing park to go to for wildlife lovers. We went from San Pedro locks all the way up to the Gamboa Rainforest resort on a boat tour through the canal. We were able to see and hear howler monkeys, we also saw and even fed from our boat white faced capuchins and tamarind monkeys. They are very friendly and will eat right out of your hands, sometimes even crawling across your shoulders to get to the other side of the boat. We were able to see the local red eyed hawks that hunt snails in action and also the local iguanas. If your tour takes you to the Wuonaan indigenous village make sure to wear closed toed shoes unless you want leaf cutter ants to crawl onto your feet. The indigenous people were very nice and they had a lot of handmade wares for purchase which helps them to continue to live their cultural lifestyle and traditions in the national forest.
  • Very swethin experience, in the couple of hours I was there I was able to see over 40 species of birds, and various species of mamals, reptiles and amphibians up close
