Mercado de Mariscos, Panama City
(3.3/5 based on 200+ reviews on the web)
For fish so fresh it’s nearly flapping amid the buzzing atmosphere of a city’s fresh fish market, head to Mercado de Mariscos. Tuna, snapper, lobster, octopus--everything on offer is yours to take home for the right price, or have cooked to perfection in the authentic fish restaurant located upstairs. The fresh ceviche on sale from many of the vendors is a tasty and very popular delicacy; grab one to go and take a walk around the busting market, which overlooks the harbor. • The ceviche was very fresh and good. It was small and looked only half open, which is deceptive. It's a nice taste of the local food, though.
  • I was disappointed in this market. Small, grungy, adjacent to much trash, terrible sidewalks and poverty in adjacent neighborhoods. Most visitors probably get here by bus or cab, me I explore. Took th...  more »

  • Here you will find the best fish and seafood. All fresh and cheap. Open from early morning til 3. And in the afternoons and nights you can taste panamenian ceviche for the lowest price
  • One of the favorite spot for many people to eat and buy fresh sea food. I personally buy ceviche. Be prepared for not so pleasant odors outside the market giving you the impression of uncleanness but once you pass the offensive odors you'll be fine. Take precautions with your car; parkings are very limited and prone to get hit by another car if parked incorrectly. A always crowded restaurant sits on the second floor and many others around the market. Look for those with reasonable prices.
  • Authentic, cheap and fresh seafood of all type. Be sure to try the pulpo ceviche with a cold beer .
  • You can find the best Ceviches in this seafood market. I highly recommend the Cevicheria "La Bendicion".
  • Very nice place when you go there asking for Luis the Dominican gay very good person...the name of the restaurant is cecicheria la promesa
