  • I have visited many times the lagoon and it seems to me to be beautiful, but my last experience it left me with a very bad taste by the new administration that has. We called to make a reservation to go with a large group. The day came and we were somewhat concerned about climate, but in networks of sinaproc said that rains would not be strong, yes would have but typical of the time (and have camped before on rainy days). We arrived at the lagoon and there was no one who will be charged. In that, comes a young woman from the restaurant and tells us that she does not have any bookings for that day. We call to the supervisor with whom we talked to and tells us what she thought that we would not, but that we could get and that girl with the restaurant going to collect. We will pay you, but in that rain was excited, not seen anything, Lake began to grow and suddenly a part of Cerro Picacho, located next to the lagoon, began falling Earth and many stones, making a horrible crunch. We obviously scared and decided to go because it would be impossible to camp there, but to say to the girl in the restaurant we he refused to return the money to us and told us that she had already made its report and that it was going, so best to call the supervisor. We went to half an hour (which took to return the bus), and the next day we call it, but his response was that he had to talk to the Corregimiento representative to see the case. Happened we returned it to call and we never returned to answer the phone. Honestly it seemed a very ugly scam and more when we are who we are witnessing steadily bringing them people to get to know the area and encourage those who always so consumed in the restaurant to provide them with support. I think that for my part I return not to take over a group until they change the administration of La Laguna again.

  • If you are looking a place to disconnect from the rest of the world, the lagoon is great. You can camp or simply spend the day. There is a very simple restaurant without lots of variety, we can deliver food to grill. Didn't anyone see bananadose on the Lake but using a few small canisters for a walk. The place has a bath and a shower. Nearby is Cerro Picacho if they want to do some hiking, we went during the rainy season and the land was quite muddy but worth it. A repellent for mosquitoes and warm clothes will be useful if they are.

  • of course this place is a bit far away from the City BUT it is totally worth it. Just go with a rented paddle board or contact a guide like wanderpanther, voyairpanama and they will hook you up. Campi...  more »
