Iglesia del Carmen, Panama City

Categories: Churches, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web
Admire the monumental gothic-style facade of Iglesia del Carmen, some of the most visually striking architecture in all of Panama City. An homage to the gothic architectural style of the Middle Ages, the first stone of the church wasn’t actually laid until 1947, with its inauguration finally taking place in July, 1953. Step inside and find ornate stained glass windows and an intricately decorated altar positioned amongst beautifully carved stone pillars. The two towers of this Roman Catholic church rise high into the heavens, said by believers to help elevate prayers to God. • We went to mass and the priest made a wonderful homily, with very own approach to our daily spiritual life. I loved. At the end the Bell ringing was the icing on the cake.
