(4.5/5 based on 850+ reviews on the web)
Get your bearings and escape the bustle of Panama on top of Ancon Hill. Once used by the U.S. government to survey the Panama Canal, and given back to Panama in 1977, the hill now boasts a lush, protected jungle, home to a diverse range of wildlife and offering spectacular panoramas. Consider packing a picnic and hiking the short way to the top; from there you can survey the city and get a lay of the land. Keep your eyes peeled for sloths and armadillos as you walk. With our custom trip planner, Panama City attractions like Ancon Hill can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • From the top you can see a 360 view of Panama as you walk to each area. Easy hike/walk up a road where vehicles are not allowed. About a 20-25 min walk when drop off at the gate by taxi. Must see view...  more »
  • Excellent for a good day of exercise and to learn more about Panama; ideal to take many photos of Panama City and Bay; arriving at the top can contemplate the beautiful flag and bust Amelia Denis De Icaza; for me it is very enriching every year that can go. You learn history and geography.

  • There is that having care to get. You pass walking down a medium danger zone to get to the Hill. But it is cute and even some animals can be seen. We saw a Toucan.

  • Good as a escape from the noise of the city. Easy paved trekking to the top.
  • The views from the hill were amazing! When I went it was slightly hazy, so they weren't as good, but I could see some of the New City and much of the Old City as well.
  • Fantastic for photos of the modern skyline in contrast with the old town. a nature reserve so a good chance of seeing poison dart frogs, Haiti, tucans and more.
  • Great place to visit if you want an awesome view of Panama City.
  • Great views of city and canal area. A must for anyone visiting Panama city.We saw a tree sloth high up in tree.
