Bahai Temple, Las Cumbres

4.7
#8 of 13 in Historic Sites in Panama City
Visit the interestingly designed and peaceful Bahai Temple, perched on top of a hill with breathtaking views over the city. Built as a place of worship for the Bahai faith, whose literature directs that their temples be open to all faiths and creeds, the temple remains an inclusively spiritual place to visit. Sit and meditate in the airy domed building, or in the peaceful gardens surrounding it. You can reach the spot by car, or via the buses running back and forth. • Read up on Bahai faith before going. They are open to anybody, regardless of faith or religious views. The place is calm, serene and it offers wonderful views of the city. Meditate a couple of minutes...  more »
  • It is a sacred place for the practitioners of this religion, but apart from that it is a beautiful place to visit, the view from the temple are excellent

  • This is a beautiful, peaceful Baha'i House of Worship (one of only 9 in the world) on top of a hilltop overlooking Panama City. It's a wonderful place, and the photographs don't do it justice. There is a free shuttle that runs from the base of the hill near the subway to the temple on the summit, and you can find the hours in the photos on this listing.
  • Beautiful Temple. You really feel peace up here. Great architectural design to allow the air to manoeuvre throughout the temple to keep it cool without the use of any fans or air-conditioning.
  • Must go!
  • Beautiful Temple, here I can feel that is a focus of good energy, excellent spot for pray for the Peace of the world in an amazing temple, just as big and magnificent as the one that is in India.
  • Peace

Where to stay in Panama City

To enjoy a balance between old-fashioned architecture and new-edge culture, the southern coastal neighborhood of Casco Viejo (Old Quarter) remains the best place to stay in Panama City. You can choose from a range of stylish boutique hotels and comfortable guesthouses lining the narrow streets of this neighborhood, home to many cafes and bars. For a selection of mid-range and higher-end hotels, many with swimming pools, look to the north-central neighborhood of El Cangrejo. You can also find budget accommodations in the beachfront suburb of Calidonia.
