  • Our family visited the center while we were in Panama on a holiday. The visitors center is really modern and close to the locks. We had a car and parking was easy and close. We watched a huge containe...  more »
  • The already completed works allow that the expanded Canal will be proud, tremendous pride. The cinema projections vary and show different facets, stories and moments. But should take into account, and say it clearly, that engineering and the current method of enlargement are the work of a consortium called "Groups United for the Canal", led by Sacyr Hispaniola, and in addition, owned by the Italian Impregilo, Belgian "Jan de Nul" and Urban Constructora S.A. Of Panama. Seeing these projections on construction is obvious, literally, to the Spanish and Belgian companies. Very of course is that the doors come from Italy, and involved the Panamanian company... and others? It is clearly unfair and uncertain! I would ask that they correct this documentation in order not to mistake visitors. Unless it is intentional. This would contribute to maintaining and strengthening the image of objectivity and seriousness of the country. This is not serious, gentlemen! As he is explained that a first attempt was from the French and the first Canal was carried out by the United States of America. Do you should separate this information from the existence of the existing litigation, that work of a magnitude of this type will have not had them? Do not risk losing its credibility by hiding the reality. Otherwise it is nice although the passage of vessels is slower than enMiraflores, and all operations, and the restaurant food is terrible.

  • This place is amazing, the architecture is incredible. It is a great experience to be able to see how the new canal works and the cargoes are really impressive in size. The day we went there there's was the biggest cargo ever that has crossed the Colon lock coming from Tokyo, Japan. They will have to build another expansion soon! Looking forward to see it!
  • Is a nicely newly built attraction to showcase the expansion of the Panama Canal. This viewing platform will only allow you to see the new channel and they maneuver the ships via tugboats whereas the original where they use train engines to do so. Is interesting and worth your visit. Through out the visit there are speeches prepared for tourist and explained what is happening as the ships make the crossing from one lock to the next. There is also a multimedia room with a documentary- i believe the price includes admission but did not partake as my visit was very brief.
  • This is a great place to view the canals at work! 🚢 It can be a little tough to understand exactly how it's working and what is going on and the video explains the history but not the mechanics. They give you a brochure but you might want to ask an attendant for more details or do a little research before coming. Also be sure to wear bug spray we saw some flying critters around the day we were there!
  • It was truly a wonderful experience. The beauty and the natural walking trail. Unfortunately I did not get to see a vessel enter the canal.
  • Super experience, Excellent views, very well organized and the tourist guide made an excellent explanation of everything. They have a little tropical trail, there you can see some monkey's.
