The Sleeping Indian Girl, El Valle de Anton

(4.2/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Reward yourself to breathtaking views of pristine surroundings as you climb to the top of The Sleeping Indian Girl. The mountain got its name from its resemblance to a girl lying on her back when looked at from a distance. The “face” and “neck” of the mountain have been carefully grazed, while the “hair” remains forested. The trail to the top is unmarked and steep in some areas, so make sure you bring good protective hiking shoes. Also, bring plenty of water for your hike. • I have lived in Panama for three years, love my day trips to El Valle, but I have never hiked there (walked and driven ATV's to the waterfalls, but this has been it for my adventures on the mountains)...  more »
  • Well signposted this ascent on foot is easy to reach. On the way, you will pass on great small stalls where you can stock up with fruit and drinks. The trail passes small waterfalls upwards. Occurs $3.5 per person somewhat humbling, being plagued with waste water as often. Not suitable for bathing. The waterfall track ends after 1/3 of the track, then it goes through the Woods upwards, not signposted but with 2 x left still easy to find. Above you will find after an hour with a great view of El Valle and can explore on the ridge along the mountain range. However, you should be for the way top heights and equipped with good Footwear, slip resistance recommended. Overall a beautiful hike that we can recommend, if it tarnishes also falls because of waste something!

  • Stroll that rises gently to two hours round-trip. 3 dollars per tourist at the entrance... (already this concept to pay to be able to do a hike, or the path is barely marked and not maintained with waste on the floor among other things...) A wave explanation of the path, then follow the path, medium shown. Pay attention to each fork (we have a small extra loop!) Of mini waterfall on the way and then once there up a pretty clear view is worth the ride but maybe not the $ 3 per person... Attention to the many people who offer to be guides of the hike against a few dollars
