The Sleeping Indian Girl, El Valle de Anton
(4.3/5 based on 160+ reviews on the web)
Reward yourself to breathtaking views of pristine surroundings as you climb to the top of The Sleeping Indian Girl. The mountain got its name from its resemblance to a girl lying on her back when looked at from a distance. The “face” and “neck” of the mountain have been carefully grazed, while the “hair” remains forested. The trail to the top is unmarked and steep in some areas, so make sure you bring good protective hiking shoes. Also, bring plenty of water for your hike. • During the pleasant promenade that is until you get to the lookout where the Valley, is displayed you can give a bathroom in a couple of places in the river falling. There are several waterfalls and you can also see the "painted stones" I recommend the excursion

  • We had a 2 hour hike including piedra pintada (see my other reviews) and the indian can sleep that continues on the same path. To get to the stone no problem there is only a single path. Then no markup and 3 different trails then others who go in many directions. In fact, without guide, hiking is done a little orientation compared to the Valley and the mountain knowing if you know guide you it's hard to get lost (unless there is no visibility). Arrived at the top there is a beautiful view over the Valley and the slopes of the caldera of El Valle. It's a beautiful ballad not so exceptional. She is done in 2 directions or at the start of the piedra pintada and there is paid, or the other way. If you choose the other way I tells you how (it is one of the different variants). In front of the counter for payment of Piedra pintada take the street that starts to the left and happening on the small bridge over the river. Made about 300 to 400 meters up to a House at the pink walls on your right. The angle of this House take the lane that goes up on the right. At the end take the left path passing among the houses. After the last house you find on your right, walk a bit, a passage that goes up. This trail you leads to the top of the caldera and of the indian can sleep. Upstairs, follow this trail to the right which runs along the ridge. After about one hour we meet a first home, then another. A trail descends on the right is that of the Piedra pintada, that runs along the Creek. Be careful, I can confirm that there is NO markup in November 2016. The guides waiting for you at the start of the Piedra pintada jealously ensure their business!

  • The climb to the summit is not too strange and the panoramic view is breathless. Additionally you pass an amazing waterfall.
