Island
Hop on a boat to get to Isla Grande, an undeveloped, picturesque getaway. With no roads, a population of just over 1,000, and only a few resorts scattered across its shores, the island remains a tranquil sanctuary with a laid-back holiday vibe. Rest on sugar white beaches, lapped by turquoise waters ideal for snorkeling and swimming. If you fancy a hike, head up to the old lighthouse, which sits atop the island’s highest point and promises picture perfect views. The island offers only sparse amenities, so if you’re feeling peckish, head to one of the resorts for a seafood snack or come prepared with your own picnic. • We use the option of the day of the Big Island Hotel to have access to showers, bathrooms, chairs and tables for $50. He is allowed to carry beverages, cooler and even the food. The guys enjoyed the beach and adults also. The cost of parking the car is $6 and the boats charge you $5 per person round trip. The boatmen are very friendly and offer tours at an additional cost.

  • From Panama City, it is almost 1 h 30 min. You get to the place and leave the car in the parking lot, to the care of a villager. You take the boat from la Guaira to big island, they are less than 5 minutes. The ticket is worth $2.50. The water is turquoise with white sand. Loved my family. Island with vegetation and very quiet. We ate at a typical place, no frills with good food. The water is so salty as in the Pacific. Spectacular place.
