  • Hiking in the cool and magical highland in the Boquete area and enjoying Panama City from February 27 to March 6, 2017 was a great experience all planned out with the Sendero Travel Agency in Panama. ...  more »
  • Walked from the Boquete side to the mirador. Path is ok, you'll have to cross a small river without a bridge. Some parts are quite muddy. The worst has been the high amount of mosquitos. Couldn't even...  more »
  • We decided to start from the Boquete side and walk as far as we'd like and back. The drive up to the trailhead (we had a rental) was easy and scenic. The first part from the ranger's office is on a 4x...  more »

  • The trail is moderate with ups and downs. Make it to the meadows and wait for the quetzals to announce themselves. We spotted several (mid April) - both male and females. We also spotted a family of acorn woodpeckers. They are loud and beautiful. Entry to the trail is $5 per adult. Kids go free.
  • A beautiful trail connecting Boquete to Cerro Punta. The forest changes as you move along the trail, very pretty. There are a few steep ups and downs, but overall it is medium difficulty for the area.
  • Absolutely amazing trail trough the jungle including bridges, crossing a river and hiking up the "Mirador"! U don't need a guide, only if you want to see special birds and other animals. I recommend starting really early from boquete and hiking up to the Mirador. Don't trust the distances on the signs! 😂 We returned from the viewing point to the ranger station in boquete and saved us the long trip in the bus from Cerro punta to David. This version of the hike takes you around 5h. But it's absolutely worth it!!
