  • The hike (ANAM ANAM station station around 7km, about 4-5 hours, $5) both Boquete and Cerro Punta is well feasible. The Anam station on page Boquete lies on approximately 1800m.ü.m. and those on side Cerro Punta on around 2000m.ü.m. The highest point of the hike is just over 2500m.ü.m. Since the weather almost every day is tomorrow mostly clear and then zunehend cloudy in the early and mid are are to expect rain showers in the late afternoon, is in my opinion the hike early in the morning to start, and not first to the starting point to travel. From Boquete small buses, close to the Plaza every day (20 min, $1.5) to the ANAM station in Alto Boquete (5:30, 6:15, 7:00, etc.). How the arrival from Cerro Punta designed, is not known to us. From Cerro Punta village (not ANAM station) small in us unknown frequency buses to David Terminal (approx. 2 h, $3.5), where on the bus to Boquete (approx. 1 h, $3) can be moved to. A GUID is contrary to specified in the official tourism office in Boquete, not to recommend! Unless you're wearing $35 with you around, try which you desperate to get rid of and this the local economy come to let olalere change! The trail is very well signposted, there are barely fork, and as the only obstacles to the ausgetrpelten path around a fallen tree may be time.

  • Let us go with an all-wheel taxi from Boquete to Cerro Punta. ($20 pp.) The Hotelrezeptionisten said the way is foolproof and the taxi driver also predicted US 5 hours. Cerro Punta from walking mostly downhill and it's not so hard. It took achieved (input) a while, until we the first Ranger Station. No one, to the $5 to pay. During the whole way, which is very nice, we ran into a human. Some distance signs along the way were I not quite believe was a short walk to a lookout with think 80 meters described. It took but significantly longer. Now it was raining very heavily during the descent and after approx. 5.5 hours we arrived at the Ranger Station (exit). Again no one. The darkness began slowly and we had to go down the partly extremely steep paved road. Who so goes the way how we have done that, should care be SURE a RETURN in advance. It was the sheer horror. We ran and ran and saw no people and had no mobile phone network. So, we could not take the cab described by our hotel. At some point, we knocked completely invalidated at a gate of a house where an elderly gentleman lived, who finally called us a cab. In the meantime, there is also still a public bus drove direction of Boquete. The taxi took me then again proud 20 minutes. The whole thing is of course also our fault and should not affect the assessment for the very beautiful hiking trail. We did not see the Resplendent Quetzal in the weather unfortunately. You should necessarily organize the return in advance. If you arrive by car, has no problem. The cloud forest is impressive as, for example, in the Monteverde in Costa Rica.
