  • We did this hike in mid April, no guide, from Boquete up to Mirador las Rocas Lookout point and back, and it was probably one of the best hikes we did during our stay. Initially we wanted to do the hi...  more »

  • From Boquete, Ranger Station where you look at a and carry out our tour must be up to the Mirador and back again was. Known we renounced the CPL. Prophecy until after C.P.. Ranger Station. Because there we would have to organize again a new transport. Time we were I think right for about 5 hours with many photo stops and break. The road is really easy but worthwhile as often described and our previously ordered taxi came too late and brought us in 30 minutes in the city on foot were back's about 2.5 hours on a tarred road certainly again. The alternative is to 2 km from the Ranger Station, take the bus down, for this you need also some patience. The way is free by the way, contrary to the description in older leaders of rice and some publications.

  • Very nice trail through the middle of the jungle. The path is easy to find but you should be aware that you hike literally inside the jungle and without data service. But there a signs giving you a feeling of distance and that you are walking right. We took the path till the Mirador and then headed back. It took us about 4 hours. The last bit up the Mirador is very tough and you'll need to be fit as it takes you around 45 minutes more or less very steep uphill. I really liked the trail itself, however the view from the Mirador isn't THAT stunning. If you like hiking you should do the trail anyway.
  • One of the most popular Hiking trail in Boquete area, we did it in rain season (AUGUST) and we where just by our own the complete morning. Also we had to plan a scheduled return for avoiding the rain storm and when reaching the Mirador we only where able to see foog. Nevertheless, the trail itself through ghe jungle is espectacular, the last big ramp until the mirador only for sporty people! 40 min up monster steps through the jungle hill! Whe just heard them from the distance but if you are lucky you can see the Howlers and Qutzales here.
  • The trail is moderate with ups and downs. Make it to the meadows and wait for the quetzals to announce themselves. We spotted several (mid April) - both male and females. We also spotted a family of acorn woodpeckers. They are loud and beautiful. Entry to the trail is $5 per adult. Kids go free.
  • Tough but nice.
  • A beautiful trail connecting Boquete to Cerro Punta. The forest changes as you move along the trail, very pretty. There are a few steep ups and downs, but overall it is medium difficulty for the area.
