Discover the vast protected plains of Parque Nacional Marino Isla Bastimentos, the first marine park of Panama. An important habitat for monkeys, sloths, crocodile and 28 species of amphibians and reptiles, this 132 sq km (50.9 sq mi) reserve has everything from coral lined beaches to swampy wetlands. Investigate this diverse terrain and the animals that call it their home. The Cayos Zappatillas are a popular stop in the reserve-- two shoe shaped, uninhabited islands with shores of coral, tropical species of bird and a common nesting spot for sea turtles. Head to Wizard Beach for fantastic snorkelling and swimming where jungle surrounds a golden shore.
