Arafat's Tomb, Ramallah

(3.9/5 based on 75+ reviews on the web)
Visit Arafat's Tomb to learn about the hardships of recent history. Believing this is a temporary resting site for their leader, a symbolic rail track was put under the grave since Arafat asked to be buried in Jerusalem. Surrounded by water on three sides, the mausoleum is a modern piece of art in itself constructed from stone and glass with a symbolic surface of 11 m by 11 m (120 sq ft) that marks the date of his death. As Yasser Arafat was a well-respected and admired man, smiling or laughing during the visit is considered inappropriate. • I don't see attractive. It is a pretentious building guarded by a few Palestinian soldiers. In addition the figure of Arafat is far from being unanimously respected by his own people. It is practically the only thing visited Ramallah, the provisional capital of the unlikely Palestinian State.

  • If interested in the Palestinian politics then you have to visit the grave of the man that made history. There is nothing much to see other than the grave place and the modern mosque built nearby.
