Follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great and see a mosque built from salt rocks at Khewra Salt Mine. In 320 BCE, Alexander’s troops discovered the mine, and during British rule the mining engineer developed the main tunnel. Nowadays, you can take a train tour around the mine, seeing the incredible salt mosque, as well as many attractive saltwater pools. Don't miss the artistic carvings in the mine, including a model of the Great Wall of China. On your journey, you’ll pass through crystal valley, as well as a tunnel with crystals in its walls. The mine remains the country’s largest source of salt. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Khewra Salt Mine by using our Khewra trip planner .

An amazing experience! Worth visiting! The guide Abdul Wahab gave an informative tour. However, the goods made out of salt need better workmanship and the government should train the workers to create a variety of products with better craftsmanship and sophistication.
Khewra Salt Mine is the biggest salt mine of the World. It's located in Pakistan. Inside temperature is very low as compared to outside. So move there in summer season.
