Khewra Salt Mine, Khewra

Follow in the footsteps of Alexander the Great and see a mosque built from salt rocks at Khewra Salt Mine. In 320 BCE, Alexander’s troops discovered the mine, and during British rule the mining engineer developed the main tunnel. Nowadays, you can take a train tour around the mine, seeing the incredible salt mosque, as well as many attractive saltwater pools. Don't miss the artistic carvings in the mine, including a model of the Great Wall of China. On your journey, you’ll pass through crystal valley, as well as a tunnel with crystals in its walls. The mine remains the country’s largest source of salt. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Khewra Salt Mine by using our Khewra trip planner .

  • We went a long time ago is a very large mine and we had a lot of fun must take fees for Pakistani children is less expensive but for others it's expensive except it's beautiful it's very very large it is 1 1 / 2 hours of t rain inside the mount and they have very happy memories but I would prefer if you buy souvenirs outside the mountain from the inside because it is expensive but they are all very very nice you can see the caves and caves of salt mine and salt water and there is a sheesh mahal called out there which is a Palace of salt walls which are similar to glass! I would recommend if you go there, you should see it is the best thing there is near Jhelum, so it's pretty easy to go there it was about 2 hours and a half from our House there was really well, it's beautiful and you can look at the Green Bay also it is really beautiful

  • This is world second largest salt mine of the world which discovered in 326 BC by the army of Alexander while going to India. This salt mine established as proper tourists point in 2002 and there are many good things made by salt inside the mines. You may walk to go inside the mine or you may use trolly/train service. It's approximately 1 Km deep where the Spots are established for tourists. I must say that one should visit the place once in life to capture the unforgettable memories.

  • Pakistan has the World's second largest salt mine. It is a mind blowing and fantastic place that ought to be in your travel list. Looking at these mesmerising mountains we can see the power of Allah. This salt mine is utterly beautiful and truly has an elegance of its own. The way the pink and white salt seams mix with each other, the salty water, deep lakes, eye catching lights are an integral part of Pakistan and reflect the beauty of our country.
