Karachi Zoo, Karachi

(1.9/5 based on 50 reviews on the web)
See a wide variety of animals, kept with care and attention in good condition at Karachi Zoo, the second-oldest zoo in the country. Among many perennial favorites, the highlight here remains its elephant house. Head to the reptile area to see one of the few such places in Pakistan. The onsite natural history museum also draws crowds with its collections of taxidermied animals, horns, antlers, and feathers. • Great zoo with a great variety of animals, birds, etc. I liked bears and leopards. Everywhere placards indicating what kind of appearance. A lot of people, people strolling families.

  • As compared to 10 or 15 years ago the place has improved to a great extent. Cleanliness and the animals habitat seems improved. Although there's a lot that could be done to improve the quality of food...  more »

  • I would say, once upon a time when we were kids, there was a Zoo where Kids enjoy Elephant Ride, and today after long time when i visited with my little Jumping Stars, i found Stinking Place, lethargic & haggard poor Animals. Even though my Kids enjoyed a lot and amazed to see live Animals. And that made it a great experience.
  • Much to my surprise the place is very nice and much cleaner and tidy then people perceive. They have a great variety of animals would have rated 5 stars if quality food or snacks would have been available
  • If you can bear the muck and the dirt around the cages and enclosures, and the vast empty stretches that need to be traversed to reach the next exhibit, there are quite a few different animals to see and experience. The elephant enclosure people will even let you in for a small fee. Inexpensive, and accessible to all
  • Unlike popular belief, the Karachi Zoo is a pretty nice place where families can enjoy. Unfortunately, the Bengal tiger, in my view the most magnificent sight at the zoo, has passed away. Nevertheless, there are many animals there including a pair of white lions and it's a thrilling experience for kids.
  • It is a hopeless place to go as well as wasting time and money. Most of the cages were empty and those in which the animals been kept were stingy and dirty.Animals were in their poor health and not even in their pairs.Birds cages were also empty, only you can see the animals which you can easily find in interior Sind. The department don't even want to spend money for getting different animals from the world nor on the health, food and maintenance of the animals been kept. This zoological department should be ashamed of their doings and corruption.
