Clifton Beach, Karachi

2.8
#1 of 17 in Parks in Karachi
Dip your toes in the shiny, sandy shallows of the Arabian Sea at Clifton Beach--a perfect break from the city. A must see for first-time visitors to Karachi, the beach provides plenty of opportunities for photography and family activities (although swimming is not one of them). At daybreak, fishers haul in their nets while strolling along the long coast, and sunsets are particularly spectacular. During busy hours, the place is full of restaurant-goers and hustling camel/horse guides, but you can also enjoy a peaceful stroll on your own along the wide stretch of sand. A visit to Clifton Beach represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Karachi trip planner to plot your vacation.

  • Not the best beach to go to. Over crowded and often noisy. Quite dirty at places however it’s not bad if you go during the working week hours. Good and nice camel and horse rides.. got to bargain else...  more »

  • Clifton beach becomes lively on weekends and public holidays. I have good memories of the beach when there was no breakwater and water used to frequently wash the Seaview road. The beach, then was clean and there was no fear of snatching at gunpoint. The beach now has become filthy, particularly near McDonald's restaurant it stinks. I wish responsible departments take necessary actions for reviving the glory of the beach.
  • Ideal time to reach there is one hour before sunset. Enjoy cool breeze of the sea and soft touch of water. Within one hour after sunset, it is recommended to leave the place. Thereafter you can visit a nearby shopping mall or restaurants located along the beach.
  • Not too crowded and pretty clean. A great beach to just enjoy the maritime breeze and have a blast friends and family.
  • The voice of the beach speaks to the soul and a sea breeze puts mind at ease. Its an owesome place if we keep it clean.

Where to stay in Karachi

The sprawling city of Karachi has a variety of accommodations able to cater to the relatively modest amount of international visitors it receives each year. By far the most popular place to stay lies close to the sea in South Karachi. This district contains two of the main middle class neighborhoods in the city, and a high proportion of its museums, venues, and restaurants. The main hotels sit over in the commercial districts close to the station, with some budget-friendly guesthouses and hostels sitting in their shadows.
