Geologic Formation Nature / Park
Hike your way through narrow canyons leading to crystal clear pools and hidden waterfalls at Wadi Shab. Framed within a barren sandstone ravine, this lush oasis features lower pools that provide a source of drinking water, while the higher ones remains popular with swimmers and those seeking pristine scenery. Meander along a sloping trail lined with banana palms, making your way past village ruins and plantations to shimmering pools and a cavernous waterfall. Restrooms are located at the base of the valley. Avoid hiking in the midday heat. • The visit to Wadi Shab was definitely the highlight of my trip to Oman. I went there during Ramadan. There were few tourists because of that. Yes, it was really hot when I started hiking around 10:30 ...  more »
  • Visiting Wadi Shab is well worth it, but try to do it in the winter months! Although the reward of swimming in an amazing cave at the end is worth it, the ~45 minute walk (plus a short boat trip at th...  more »

  • Beautiful walley with small water pockets, scenic view and fresh water. However you should be ready to walk far to see more breath taking spots in Wadi. Do not carry heavy things as it will make walk difficult. Take water and swimming gears.
  • Amazing wadi with fresh water. You must swim and walk through the different levels till you reach the very interesting internal cave and waterfall
  • The most beautiful Wadi in all of Oman. Great for swimming in the fall and winter months. Too dry and hot during the summer months.
  • Probably the most famous Wadi in Oman is getting pretty crowded, especially during weekends. But it is still worth visiting as the swimming pools are really awesome. Try to get to the very last Laguna and climb upstairs where you can find another great place. As many places around it's getting ruined by stupid people littering everywhere around.
  • Great hike, though can get too hot if you go in the early afternoon. Takes about 1 hour each way, but make sure to bring enough water. Swimming at the top is the perfect way to cool down after the hike.
