Geologic Formation
Hike your way through narrow canyons leading to crystal clear pools and hidden waterfalls at Wadi Shab. Framed within a barren sandstone ravine, this lush oasis features lower pools that provide a source of drinking water, while the higher ones remains popular with swimmers and those seeking pristine scenery. Meander along a sloping trail lined with banana palms, making your way past village ruins and plantations to shimmering pools and a cavernous waterfall. Restrooms are located at the base of the valley. Avoid hiking in the midday heat. • We only had a quick visit here but a very short boat ride at the base of the bridge (1 Rial pp) takes you to a track that takes around one hour to walk (each way) which brings you to a cave in the wad...  more »
  • 2 hours of ballad to quietly raise this wadi. Well-marked path and often prepare. No need of mountaineering equipment provide all the same sport shoes. Once succession of natural pool or often foot and where water is anything but cold... well nice after this ascent. We end up with a little cramped tunnel or the easiest is to pass the head under water to find out at the end of a lift nice place. A pretty ballad for an early afternoon! Ah yes the place is a little frequent but there is plenty room for everyone in this mid April 2017!

  • A great place to spend the entire day! The Gorge is very beautiful, and the presence of water bodies will not give svarit'sja:) from the heat. We rode with a personal guide from Muscat. Roads are excellent. For shipment in the Gorge itself need to sail on a boat. It is worth, it seems 1 Rial. For walks along the Gorge it is better to take the shoes in which you can be walking in water on kameshkam. Be sure to take water with you, a lot! It is advisable to take waterproof photographic equipment to preserve the memories. The cave at the end of the Gorge is beautiful. Dive us there, the water was quite low, but sail still have to:). Visitors can jump with protruding rocks.

  • Normal place and you need to walk about 1 hour to reach the place to see the beauty if you are couple is fine but with family don't even think of it. Instead go to tiwi wadi which is 1 km ahead is better for families
  • Amazing adventure. Kind of a challenging hike with lots of cliffs. Be well prepared for a 2 hour hike to the pool area. Lots of waterfalls when you get to the top. Our kids went cliff jumping.
  • Nice place to hike. You need to go to the end to enjoy the swimming in deep water.
  • Great and amazing wadi. You must walk it till the end, swim through the cave and enjoy! Take a lot of drinking water and some energy food with you. This is must to do! You won't regret.
  • Very beautiful natural setting, tourqoise spring water rising from underground to a waterfall inside a flooded cave, that you have to swim into to access. Need to be fit to walk the trail to the wadi, as not safe walking. Would not advise young children or the elderly to visit here.
