  • This small State Museum of natural history is located near the Grand Mosque, but apparently little noticed by the ´ n tourist flows. The entrance fee is about €1.2. For that, you get a good overview of geology, flora and fauna of Oman. All explanations in English. In addition a leaflet in german free of charge available. The Museum is not a multi media Temple, but a classic exhibition with lots of interesting information. One should plan that out is not very large, 30-40 min for a visit.

  • Lots of information about the fauna, flora and geology of Oman but the museum is sadly neglected, faded and the staff bored.
  • We made a stopover in Muscat by 12 hours, it was Ramadan period then no water, no food, no shop to buy (even mcdonald's closed, follows ramadan!) After a few hours around in the hot sun I would have fainted if we hadn't found this place. The welcome was great, and the Museum with many commonly used objects in this little House that looks like a maze. and then an exhibition of paintings for sale, by contemporary artists. some not bad. We spent a good hour of relaxation and culture
