  • This beautiful Museum is housed in a small townhouse, close to the Muttra Souq. Because the building is fairly small, one has here concentrates on some priorities. There are very interesting information to the environment, the geology and the early history. The reconstruction of a tomb from the pre-Islamic period is especially beautiful. The time of the last hundred years is well documented. Concise movies support the exhibited pieces. Lighting and didactics are also very good. Unfortunately, there is this photograph ban.

  • A very old museum that was rebuilt lately. It's small but it's a good place to know a bit of history.
  • It's a nice, small museum. Plenty of displays, videos & interactive displays. A bit dated but good to get the history of Oman & Muscat.
  • A very nice museum to visit. Contains many information about old cities of Mutrah and Muscat. Drawback is no souvenir shop available or refreshments.
  • Small cosy museum. Very convenient for tourist visiting Sultan Qaboos port. Gives a quick view about Oman history and geology.
