  • The strong Mirani (or Al - Mirani) is one of the two Portuguese fortresses surrounding the entrance of the old port of Muscat and are on both sides of the Al - Alam Palace, residence of Sultan Qaboos. It was built in the 16TH century, period in which the Portuguese settled in the omani capital to create a factory in the path of the Indies. It should be noted that you can only see the outside, since at least for now, it is not possible to visit them and inside. Anyway, your view in the distance, rising on the small hills that surround the area, is imposing and transports to a tumultuous past of this peaceful region.

  • Posi, filmed right on the water, you can see only from the outside but you see equally the grandeur of the building, very close to the Sultan's Palace. Nice!

  • The fort is located next to the Sultan's palace. It's worth the while visiting it, when you are in the area. The view over the water is nice as well.

  • Good old Fort beautifully renovated and preserved. Can visit from outside only.
  • I did not get chance to visit it from inside . The view from outside is awesome . It's called murani Fort . It's very old fort and the Portuguese during the war against oman rebuilt again and modify it and that was in 1588 .
  • Cool
