Situated in Old Muscat, the palace was built in 1972, and is usually used by the sultan to receive guests and host official functions. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the grounds, you can view the extravagant mansion and its meticulously manicured lawns from the gate.   • The entire scene here at the Al Alam Royal Palace is gorgeous. The national museum directly across the courtyard from the palace is stunning. Definitely worth a leisurely walk around the entire area. ...  more »
  • Located in Mutrah area, accessible to public, good to see and take some pictures in the front without going inside.

  • A beautiful and peaceful place for visit. Displays vivid colours during the day and sparkling with light effects in d night. The buildings in the courtyard are majestic.

  • Excellent palace of a great Sultan. Would have been great if a trip inside was possible
  • Locally called as Muscat Palace, The oldest palace of Oman. While new constructions are made but designs are matched with the existing buildings. Still the part of old history is secured and well maintained which can see from the still existing watch towers in the mountains. An exciting photo place for the visitors.
