Situated in Old Muscat, the palace was built in 1972, and is usually used by the sultan to receive guests and host official functions. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the grounds, you can view the extravagant mansion and its meticulously manicured lawns from the gate.   • Plenty of public parking to visit this site. Stunning building, no entry allowed but you can see it from the outside. A huge open area at the front you can walk round and take pics. Free.  more »
  • See when you arrive at matrah is one of the palaces of the resulting to receive these calls... we arrive in a long short before you see this beautiful full color atower sublime garden Palace... too bad we can not access the inside but it is to see right next to the Museum al zubeir

  • A beautiful and peaceful place for visit. Displays vivid colours during the day and sparkling with light effects in d night. The buildings in the courtyard are majestic.
  • Palace of Sultan Qaboos with a good garden and nice place to click picture
  • Excellent palace of a great Sultan. Would have been great if a trip inside was possible
  • Locally called as Muscat Palace, The oldest palace of Oman. While new constructions are made but designs are matched with the existing buildings. Still the part of old history is secured and well maintained which can see from the still existing watch towers in the mountains. An exciting photo place for the visitors.
