Stop by and take some photos at Al Alam Royal Palace, one of six residences of Oman’s ruler, Sultan Qaboos. Situated in Old Muscat, the palace was built in 1972, and is usually used by the sultan to receive guests and host official functions. Although visitors are not allowed to enter the grounds, you can view the extravagant mansion and its meticulously manicured lawns from the gate. The palace has history of over 200 years, built by imam Sultan bin Ahmed the 7th direct grandfather of the current Sultan. It was rebuilt as a Royal residence in 1972.
As the Royal Family lives there you can't go inside and have to look at it from outside. It is easily reachable place and near from Mutrah Corniche. Car parking is available. Surrounded by small garde... read more »
