(3.9/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
A Portuguese colonial fort built atop ancient castle ruins, Khasab Castle now provides the area with an informative regional museum. Constructed as it stands today in the 17th century, the peach castle commands its surroundings with four stone turrets and a central circular tower. Visit the tower for an in-depth look at the complex's history, and learn about Oman's takeover of the citadel in the 17th century. See a diverse range of artifacts including weapons, boats, jewelry, and traditional wedding decorations. Renovated in 2007, the castle also contains a Quran study school. • We spent an enjoyable hour here. The weather was very hot but the main exhibits had air-con. Beautifully restored and very informative.  more »
