Take a tour of Jabrin Fort, an imposing 17th-century fortress built by Bil’arab Bin Sultan, Omani ruler from the Yaruba Dynasty. The well-preserved castle stands alone, dominating the fertile plain near the town of Jabrin, making for a picturesque, postcard-like sight. Explore the maze-like chambers and courtyards of the walled castle, some of them elaborately decorated with carvings and painted ceilings, see the tomb of the late ruler, and gaze upon the scenic central courtyard and the surrounding plains from the top of the fortress. Nice fort, worth giving it a visit if you are passing by. Te restauration seems done quite recently, the local people are very friendly, and it's good to have an idea of the Omani culture and history.
