#2 of 13 in Things to do in Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate
Dip in an emerald green pool amidst limestone cliffs fringed with vegetation at Wadi Bani Khalid, a striking landscape cut into the Al Hajar mountains. Admire waterfalls pouring over boulders, explore caves with strange light, and snap photos of the green and red rocks--the result of copper oxide and iron ore. A scenic hike will take you to natural springs, through plantations and villages. A traditional Omani village en route has all the basic tourist facilities. • One of the best tourists location. Small restaurant available Dress changes available. Nice location for kids too. 205 km away from Muscat.
  • It is a nice natural place but it is totally not serviced it does not deserve the long hours driving no services washroom, cafeteria nothing at all. They close the place around 5pm and it is dangerous for kids. I didn't find it safe. It is good for groups of guys in their 20s. Not for family
  • Mesmerizing natural falls, having greenish water look , surrounded by mountains. All things are breathtaking. Superb destination for adventures lover
  • it is 2.5 hours drive from muscat, but completely worth it. best known wadi in the sharqiyah region, the rock formations along with the deep pools are visions to remember. even the walkway lined with a falaj leading to the pool is stunning. the coffee shop also serves up a decent buffet.
  • It’s about a 5 - 6 minute walk from the car park along a well developed path / canal system to the first clearing where you can find a restaurant that serves a la carte and buffet. BUT they only accept cash, your card is no good there. It is a beautiful large turquoise colored pool with a restaurant & bathrooms where you can go freshen up and change. The wadi stretches further inwards past the restaurant, it’s a brisk 5 minute hike passed the restaurant towards the caves and had a very private spot to swim. You can find locals and expats diving from vantage points. There are ropes tied along the sides of the limestone walls in case you need to grab on to one. There are adequate lifeguards posted all along the water. You also have people camping and setting up BBQ’s in some clearings all over.
