  • At the beginning of the road to Jebel Shams, try to locate the abandoned village of Ghul. The right place where to stop is easy to spot because there is a rug salesman. The road leading to the canyon is mostly paved, leaving then give way to a dirt road though not too challenging and practical, if you dare, even with a hatchback. Just before reaching the Jebel Shams Resort there is a scenic spot protected by a railing that offers spectacular views of the canyon of Wadi Ghul. Here is more than 2000 metres and the impressive Gorge beneath you is more than 1,000 meters deep. Fantastic landscape as much as sunset at dawn, if you have time the Council to stay here one night to enjoy this treat and do at least one of the trekking on the rim of the canyon. Priceless experience.

  • The road getting there is not easy, but worth it. (Runs to return) climbs are very steep. The canyon is absolutely awesome in its dimensions. The place is in its raw state: no houses, shops, a few sellers of carpets, a few goats that adds to the charm of the place. A must see
