  • Descending from the Jebel Shams we noticed numerous signs indicating the caves and knowing that were recently reopened we tried to reach them. I emphasize "tried" as they reached the ticket counter we realized that almost all tours had already been booked and only coincidentally were blown out three places for us. I suggest then, especially during peak season (vd. Christmas) to make your reservation online to be sure to get. The caves are reached thanks to an electric train that leads to their entry. Then continue with a guide who will explain in 45 minutes, both Arabic and English, the delicate ecosystem exists within and the geological structure of the caves. Of the 4 Lakes it is accessible and its particularity is being totally blind fish habitat and easily visible to the naked eye. You don't see many insects, although there are many, but certainly you'll notice several harmless bats roosting on the walls. Truly remarkable stalagmites and stalactites, until you get to the "lion's mouth" that does not go unnoticed! These caves have been shaped over millions of years and our son to visit them was an awesome experience! Inside it is forbidden to take photographs.

  • All natural underground cave around 5 km long. Around 1 km is open for tourists with necessary lighting. The temperature inside the cave is fine but the humidity might make you feel tired. Photography is not allowed(DSLR). But you can use your mobile with out flash inside the cave.
  • Recently reopen, during an Eid Holliday, it was really disappointing because they were having over visitors and not too much explanation inside the cave. Otherwise, it's good
  • Book on-line during holiday periods. I was turned away because of crowds due to the popularity of this attraction
  • The wait was too long and even though we had a booking, they wouldnt let us go. No wifi either.
  • Book in advance, gets very busy. The day we arrived the train was broken and the caves were very humid
