Turtle Beach, Al Hadd
(4.1/5 based on 190+ reviews on the web)
Enjoy a day on the sand and see endangered green turtles at Turtle Beach. The private beach, which you can enter for a fee, remains famous for its turtle residents and their difficult journey from the sea to lay their eggs in the sand. Depending on the time of your visit, you might spot only a few turtles, see a flock of them laying eggs, or, if you're incredibly lucky, even see the baby turtles hatching and making the strenuous journey back to the sea at night. Work out when and for how long to visit Turtle Beach and other Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate attractions using our handy Ash-Sharqiyah Governorate tour planner.

  • Turtle tour organized by the hotel: Resort Ras Al Hadd Holiday: 5 rials per person: where the money goes (it is 30)? Omani Guide did not speak a word of English. To admire a turtle that lays the "guide" will up to dig up the back of the turtle and make an opening in the room of the egg so that we can see. Then a few small turtles out of unclear where parade beneath our feet. The guide had called just before (in a sidekick?) to locate themselves. Curious coincidence. Shameful and scandalous ecologically. Avoid. At this rate, soon more than turtles on these beaches. That we left in peace to these turtles as in civilized countries the access to Turtle beaches are prohibited in laying period - this is the case in Zakinthos - Greece (caretta caretta) or in the USA where the presence on the beach of voyeurs led to an arrest and passing in front of a judge. What remains of this kind of unhappy experience if not boast from friends to go because you learn nothing. It's pure unhealthy voyeurism. A good documentary (National Geographic style) we learn more and more shows without disturbing the eco-system. I regret there let me be trained without having critical thinking beforehand, but thinking that we would attend from afar but not with our nose in the House of the eggs (that I did not done, of course).

  • After a long wait because there are a lot of people. They bring you to groups on the beach walking quickly, after about 15 minutes we got to see the beautiful turtle that covered her nest. Beware that there are baby turtles running towards the sea watch your footing. No batteries or confused. If the moon there is great, you can see the fluorescent sea plankton a great thing.

  • 1 only turtle on the beach that makes half turn because of the number of tourists who observes it. Long waits for not big thing. A little to catch tourists in this season
