Trollstigen (Troll's Footpath), Western Norway

(4.5/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
Drive up Trollstigen (Troll's Footpath), a scenic serpentine mountain road through the alpine landscape of a protected area, parts of which belong to a national park. The narrow road with 11 sharp bends climbs up to a 700 m (2,300 ft) plateau with panoramic viewing balconies. Leave your car in the parking lot here and walk out to the platform to view the winding road and two waterfalls. King Haakon VII opened the road in 1936 after eight years of construction. A modern tourist facility with restrooms, a gift shop, and a museum was completed in 2012. • Fantastic nice view if you take the trouble to go to the view platform to run. You overlook the trollstigen and the beautiful mountains

  • Riding the Trollstigen is really cool to do. Go on time, because later in the day (with uncertain drivers) forming small files and is the pressure on the viewing point. Some people dare not to, but on the way his points where you can park. People are very patient and kind, also for the drivers who have a caravan carried away. You drive over a waterfall and between high rugged peaks. Do!

  • This road is exciting. It's worth renting a car and driving it. Is a series of tight curves so you have to be careful. But the view is spectacular and reward. Have a good trip!

  • Very interesting architecture building. Good for a quick snack. There is a hidden roof garden where you can eat and get a great view. Walk to the back of the cafe on the right side
  • Cool architecture but it felt a bit sterilized and empty inside. Food was average and a bit pricey.
  • Drink coffe with perfect view of trollstigen!
  • Incredible view, but the food... wasn't good
  • Great view and worth visiting to see the view. It's a tourist trap and is expensive!
