  • This is a fun place and be with and experience together one of the guides who will take you on a story-telling you live you easily into. It is also a nice cafe there.

  • Sverresborg is the kind of museum attraction that I love and one certainly gets a lot of bang for ones buck. It seems like, perhaps, five museums in one and therefore has a bit of something for everyo...  more »
  • One is in Trondheim, one should set aside a good number of hours to visit sverresborg. Here is full the of historic buildings as well as some great exhibits. Some of the highlights are Lame Valley stave church from the 1100 's and Oppdalsgrenda from the 1800 's. In total there are about 90 historic buildings as well as a lot of other things to see. The ruins from the old castle that stands on a Crag is also worth a visit. Lovely views. Fortress was built in the 1100 's but now there are only ruins. We were there a little out of season, unfortunately, so much was closed, but we take this again next visit. Don't forget to get the story of the night the man in the Nattmann House. Ate lunch at the café that has good food and Nice staff.

Where to stay in Trondheim

One of Norway’s major cities, Trondheim offers a wide range of accommodations. As with any Norwegian city, it’s easy to find the high-end hotels with big price tags in the city’s historical center. With a student population of roughly 25,000, the town also caters to more budget-conscious travelers with a fair number of options. Look for reasonably priced hostels near the university. If you’re not opposed to roughing it the way Norwegians love to, check out one of the many campsites in the city’s outskirts. You'll still have access to the city thanks to the local buses that run regularly.
