  • Not much to look at. Some interesting Viking relics (mostly bits and pieces) and a reasonable attempt at connections to Trondheim’s past plus some natural history stuff thrown in. It reminds me of a s...  more »
  • To keep it short and sweet, The natural history museum is spread out over four floors. Apart from the Polar Night exhibition, it is all a bit old fashioned, with very few explanations in English. I ca...  more »
  • The Museum has a collection of stuffed animals from different parts of the world, Scandinavian designs of flora and local archaeological finds. Very unusual was a visit to the Hall, which provides wildlife in conditions of polar night (room completely without light, you must use the lanterns). Many cognitive and scientific information for lovers of nature and history.

  • Went to the Body Worlds Vital exhibit and it was both really fascinating and educational. Only wish they would stay open a little longer to make it possible to visit after work.
  • Was there latest to see the Body Works exibition and it was great (even tough it was a bit smaller than the one in Amsterdam). From previous visits the museum itself is also very Good. Minuses to mention is that the English descriptions is sligthly simplyfied compared to the Norwegian and it could be a bit more aimed towards kids (interaktive/sound effects)
  • Very interesting exibition. Very good section on Norwegian history
  • A great place to bring the kids on rainy days
  • Very interesting exhibition on the human body. Open until October 2017.

Where to stay in Trondheim

One of Norway’s major cities, Trondheim offers a wide range of accommodations. As with any Norwegian city, it’s easy to find the high-end hotels with big price tags in the city’s historical center. With a student population of roughly 25,000, the town also caters to more budget-conscious travelers with a fair number of options. Look for reasonably priced hostels near the university. If you’re not opposed to roughing it the way Norwegians love to, check out one of the many campsites in the city’s outskirts. You'll still have access to the city thanks to the local buses that run regularly.
