Where to stay in Trondheim

One of Norway’s major cities, Trondheim offers a wide range of accommodations. As with any Norwegian city, it’s easy to find the high-end hotels with big price tags in the city’s historical center. With a student population of roughly 25,000, the town also caters to more budget-conscious travelers with a fair number of options. Look for reasonably priced hostels near the university. If you’re not opposed to roughing it the way Norwegians love to, check out one of the many campsites in the city’s outskirts. You'll still have access to the city thanks to the local buses that run regularly.

  • One of the two synagogues in Norway. It's fantastic that they open for guided tour under appointment.

  • Museum in the town centre of the Jewish community of Trondheim. You can visit the synagogue, and there is an exhibition on the history of the Jewish community with many original exhibits, mainly from the time before the 2nd World War. During a guided tour can be explained by members of the Jewish community the exhibition, the synagogue and Jewish life today. All members of the community are very nice and answer curious questions patiently and in detail. Great recommendation for all Trondheim visitors!
