First place in visited in Tromso. During my visit there was exibition about the northern lights which was informative. There are many articles/pieces available there on the Sámi people, about their life, culture. This also a best place to buy souvenir (cheapest in the town)

Really interesting museum - bigger than it looks from the outside, and some fascinating exhibits about arctic exploration. Lots of the labels are in Norwegian only though - a guidebook’s provided but it can be hard to work out how the info in the book matches up to the exhibits. Definitely worth a visit though!

Fascinating museum with exhibits on earth history, regional biology, the Sami indigenous people, and the aurora borealis. There was also an exhibit on WWII as it pertained to the locals, but unfortunately we did not have time to read through it. To fully enjoy all the museum has to offer would take about 3-4 hours. My only suggestion might be to include things in the gift shop that are specific to the museum. It was about a 30 minute walk from the city center. Overall, a very worthy use of time.
