  • A historic old place in Tromsø as many should visit. It is possible to get a cup of coffee at the Skansen where there are certain times of the year is the exhibition of vintage cars.

  • I stopped by the Polar Museum and at the same time I strolled a walk around at Skansen. Was a little nosy on the story, so I googled a bit. Here is what I found: Skansen in Tromsø is a fortification and is considered to be the most valuable cultural history the plant in the municipality. The fortress rampart is the only visible medieval track in the city. The fortification has been landscaped on an artificial island in the Tromsøsundet, and against the national side ran a stream down there North Tollbugate now go, and then broke in two and formed a moat. The dating of the fortification range from 1000 to 1400 's, while the 1200 's and Håkon Håkonsson's Church building on the island often has been mentioned as a possible pretext. The buildings on Skansen is the oldest buildings in Tromsø. They have in the past been used as a Customs House, housing, schools, epidemic lasarett, age home and City Museum.

  • i have had one of the best experiences at skansen,be it the staff at the front and my primary doctor Hilary hop,who has shown a high level of professionalism in managing my diabetes, and other ailments.compared to my last doctor who never in the three years i was under his care had ordered any blood work,or anything to do with managing my diabetes.i have recommended my doctor to all my friends, despite the fact that she can only see a limited number of patients.i wish and hope that all primary care givers would have the same awareness and knowledge on the changes of their patients as Dr Hilary does. i would give her and the clinic a 5 star rating.
