  • I went here in the land of the guest harbour, located in Stavanger city centre. Directly above the pier is Stavanger Maritime museum. Certainly worth a visit, I was very happy to be able to see and read about sardinfabrikkene and herring adventure around in the sea. By the way, I found information on various shipping companies that were established in Stavanger.

  • Several maritime museums in Stavanger, but this is the most famous. Here we got to the maritime traditions and saw many interesting exhibits related to the themes of the sea.

  • Stavanger Maritime Museum is located in the heart of the city, in the central port. The building is actually part of the old docks, but I will let you find the whole story by visiting the museum. It is exhibiting interesting pieces and I think it worth a visit, being very easily accessible. It is part of the "Museum Stavanger" network, which means that a ticket bought at any of those museums, gives you free access to the other museums if you visit them in the same day. The price is 90 NOK (10 EUR) which is very convenient if you visit a few different museums. Furthermore, with the same ticket you can get a 50% discount at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum.
  • Very interesting and well put together exhibits. Great audio guide. Freshly made waffles in the café.
  • Very insightful on Norway's maritime and economic industry - quite fun for kids too.
  • Excelent
