  • Went here when we were on a cruise. It was within walking distance of the cruise terminal but we caught the hop on hop off bus from just outside the ship as it was pouring with rain. We got off at the museum. Museum was good, kids loved the play area. I thought the 3-D film was very good.
  • It is probably the most well known and visited museum from Stavanger. It is centrally located, in the port of Stavanger. Actually part of the museum is standing above the sea, like an oil rig. The museum is quite big and you can easilly spend two hours here. The good part is that this is the only museum in Stavanger opened until 7 PM in the summer, while the other museums usually close at 4 PM. So, if you dedicate a day to visit the museums in Stavanger my advise is to leave the Petroleum Museum the last one, but to dedicate enough time for the visit. As a tip: if you have a ticket from any of the other museums which are part of the "Museum Stavanger" network, you will get a 50% discount at the Norwegian Petroleum Museum. The museum is comprehensive, with a lot of information and interesting pieces exhibited, but it is also very interactive.
  • Really awesome place, a lot of interaction, many interesting info about oil, which you certainly do not think about in normal life. highly recommend to visit!
  • This is awesome. So much to do and see. Highlight of the town.
