Trip Planner : Europe / Norway / Western Norway / Rogaland / Stavanger Municipality / Stavanger / Nature / Lysefjord
Categories: Valleys, Nature & Parks
One of the region's most popular inlets, Lysefjord boasts imposing cliffs, forested slopes, and a host of rock formations. A boat tour gives a good look at the marine ecosystem that characterizes the area, and you may even get a glimpse of the old village of Florli. Traverse the rugged terrain up to the "pulpit rock"--a cliff over the sea that affords a clear view of the winding waterway. Hike your way up the nearby Kjerag Mountain for a sweeping view over the surrounding peaks and the fjord itself. Top off the journey to the mountain plateau by stepping on top of the Kjeragbolten, a boulder wedged within a crevasse suspended 984 m (3,228 ft) above the fjord. Make Lysefjord a centerpiece of your Stavanger vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Stavanger tourist route planner.

How can you miss this place when you are in Norway ?? have to go back t this place as soon as possible.
Had a fabulous 3hr cruise along the fjords. Raining and chilly, but the views were still spectacular. The captain really did know how to handle his vessel and took us in very close to the rocks.
