  • Midtåsen with Knut Steen-Pavilion is a great place to start an art tour of Sandefjord. Then drag to Bathe the park with several works by Knut Steen, with the whaling monument as the Central. But also look at "4", which stands at the play park, and lady luck between the Park Hotel and the Town Hall. And there are several other fine sculptures close by. Go a round!

  • It's not every day you can walk into an art museum without guards and without to buy entrance ticket. A very nice place with a selection of statues by Knut Steen. The Museum is located in the beautiful surroundings of the nearest neighbor Midtåsen as to Anders Jahre old home.

  • Knut Steen is one of the most acclaimed Norwegian artists in Norway after World War II. His endowment in the treatment of both marble and bronze is well documented through the sculptures placed throughout Norway, with an emphasis on the capital. In London, he is best known for having created the whaling monument, which was completed in 1960. Before his death, Knut Steen in the creation of the sculpture park, where on it especially Midtåsen is working in marble that is exposed inside the Pavilion, and some in bronze. Artists ' sense of aesthetics and romance characterizes the sculptures. Beautiful it is!
