  • Was disappointed when we reached the top of the Gaustadtoppen after going up in a wind of 15 m/sec with light snow in the air. We had greased packed lunches for us and was very ready to put ourselves into the fire with a coffee, food and a waffle from the tourist cabin. It was natural enough a lot of people there and we had with us dogs. We were referred to a tiny room in the trench at a time with the message that it was warm in the floor and a carpet to the dogs out there. The room was not suitable to sit more than a maximum of two people and a small dog in both the doors went into the room and in addition to the bench one could sit on it was much more rapid and root there. All that was going to in and out of the tourist hut had to pass and dey went only just with two people at a time , without any set and shook the room. We were forced to go down again without getting eaten for out, it was too cold to be able to rest. Dogs that had been warmed up also could not be left on the outside as they would have been stiff in muscles and joints due to the cold wind. Our rescue was Gaustadbanen down through the mountains

  • Beautiful day on the roof of Norway with the world's most beautiful waffles on Gaustatoppen. Breathtaking views, and sherpaene do their utmost that we trekkers should be able to take us forward in the best possible way. Have been here before, and coming back guaranteed.

  • More options to come up to the top. We chose to go both up and down, affordable trip. Very much people. Good freshly made waffles, might find that the queue system was a bit chaotic, but then there were very many people too. The staff was very nice. One can stay at the lodge.

  • On a clear day you can see about 33% of the Norwegian landmass. Must be one of the top viewpoints in the country. The fact that I can also buy a coffee and a waffle here is even better.
  • I was there 17th May 2016. One of the best experience so far in Norway.
  • A basic toilet, hot teas and waffles is what you need on the top there.
  • Nice hike up from Stavsro, took about 1 hour 30 minutes. When the weather is nice the view is awesome! Cozy little cafe almost at the summit.
  • Cool place to have a beer after a long hike.
