  • Leaving the Munch Museet we crossed the Botanical Garden which is right next door. Admission is free also in the area of the greenhouses: Unfortunately since Monday, were closed. There is plenty of room to walk around surrounded by trees and flowers. Very popular with the citizens of Oslo.

  • Highly recommend! Beautifully kept! A surprising very wide variety of plants for Norway, both inside and outside the greenhouses. It is private property, so there are restrictions. No climbing trees. Picnic is allowed in specific areas. Photography restrictions without a permit, check the website and contact staff if in doubt. Purchase permit if you plan to publish photos.
  • Great place to go for a trip! Beautiful garden! There also offer some small events.
  • I loved this little gardens and glass houses. Very well-maintained and a visit here can be combined with the Munch museum across the way. It is also free to visit, so worth stopping by for a visit.
  • Very cosy garden. Has some great views and benches all over. Love it
  • Great place for a nice walk in Oslo center. Beautiful gardens and lovely greenhouses (free). Don't forget to drink a coffee at the café.

Where to stay in Oslo

A majority of Oslo's hotels and smaller accommodations cluster along Karl Johans Gate, the city's main drag connecting many of its downtown attractions. If you want something a bit more colorful than the average hotel, consider one of the many bed and breakfasts that have been cropping up in recent years. To escape the crowded streets, but still be walking distance from major sights, stay in the Frogner or Majorstuen neighborhoods near the royal palace. As you can probably guess, lodging is quite expensive in this European capital.
