Be sure to enjoy all the sculptures displayed throughout the park. Relax at one of the fountains or enjoy the ducks in the pond. Nice place to bring a lunch and just relax away from the hustle and bus...  more »

A beautiful park. Right in front of the palace, it's a nice large area for relaxing and strolling around. It's very clean and kept up nicely.  more »

It's a well kept minimalistic park that can be quite lovely in the summertime on a sunny day. The main area is open 24 hours a day, but Dronningparken is open 07-20 from May 18th to October 1st.

Nice place! You can look all the way back across Karl Johans Gate. Also nice to sit underneath the statue on the square, and find some shade on a summer day! :)

Where to stay in Oslo

A majority of Oslo's hotels and smaller accommodations cluster along Karl Johans Gate, the city's main drag connecting many of its downtown attractions. If you want something a bit more colorful than the average hotel, consider one of the many bed and breakfasts that have been cropping up in recent years. To escape the crowded streets, but still be walking distance from major sights, stay in the Frogner or Majorstuen neighborhoods near the royal palace. As you can probably guess, lodging is quite expensive in this European capital.
