She Lies, Oslo

(2.8/5 based on 50+ reviews on the web)
Admire the public sculpture of She Lies while visiting the harbor in Oslo. Created by Italian artist Monica Bonvinci in 2007, the figure sits on a floating platform in the fjord, several feet above the surface. As a recreation of the painting "Sea of Ice," the sculpture captures the look and feel of a jagged iceberg sitting in the fjord. When viewing the sculpture, you'll notice the water reflecting off the sculpture's glass panels. Get the best views of the landmark from the roof of the opera house. It's impressive any time of day, but sunset here yields the best photo ops. Plan your She Lies visit and explore what else you can see and do in Oslo using our Oslo vacation planner.

  • It's a surprising sculpture made of stainless steel and glass panels. The sculpture turns on its axis with wind.
  • This iceberg of metal and I think that glass if the view does not fail me accompanies the opera and ballet in its architectural appreciate it from the roof of the building, or from the coast

  • This sculpture will get both positive and negative criticism where it is located in the harbour pool outside the Opera. It's a bit special by the is that it moves around its own axis to follow with the tide and the wind. I thought it has got a worthy place and that it actually fits in here. Stop up and look out over the sea and harbour-so do you see yourself how nice it is against the horizon.
