#4 of 15 in Childrens Museums in Norway
At Norwegian Museum of Technology, see how people's lives changed thanks to the developments in science, industry, and medicine. The museum features over 20 exhibits that illustrate the progress of Norwegian society from agrarian to industrial. Among old locomotives, planes, cars, calculating machines, clocks, and watches, look for the first SAS jet, the first car that belonged to a prime minister, and the first Norwegian computer. Learn about the human body, physical phenomena, and the universe at the science center, which features both a robot area and a planetarium. When you get tired, refresh with some coffee and a slice of cake or ice cream at the cafe. The museum also contains a library and historical archives. Interactive museum dedicated to technology as which can be found in many other capitals, without having anything particularly noteworthy. Well connected with buses and the tram. School groups are usually camping at home: don't wait to see them guided, fate expected that curiosity be your guide. The Café is excellent.

The family took a Sunday trip here, after many good feedback. Technical museum did not disappoint, here there were lots of exciting to look at. Much fun for big and small in the basement. Absolutely recommended to take a Sunday morning.

We were at first hesitant to go all the way to the museum since it was far from the city center area. It turns out there was a tram (Line no. 12) that goes all the way to the museum so we made it ther...  more »

Takes forever with bus 25, but train is faster. There's a whole section for kids to interact. Gift shop and Cafe is well stocked and service is great

If I could, I would give it 10 out of 5! I have been told, it has been developed similar to the analogous museum in San Francisco. I've been to that one too. This one is much more exciting! Ok, sure, take it with a pinch of salt, it's been a while and it's my subjective impression, but that's what it is! Many strong exhibitions like music, communication, computers, clocks, transportation, energy, aurora borealis, medicine, etc. But below they have a large area for kids to experiment and - a real #makerspace!!! I'm in love with the museum! :-)

The musem is huge and really amazing. I found many interesting exibitions there from science to medicine. I really enjoyed the planetarium, it was great! I removed one point because not everything was translated. If you want fully exeprience what museum has to offer I suggest the tour guide in english. But aside from that I enjoyed my time there😄

Superb variety of aspects covered, with real models/replicas and interactive sections for those who like a more hands-on approach of learning! Very suitable for kids!

Enough to see for more than one day. I particularly enjoyed the full size jet plane. Make sure you go there one day when the guides will allow you to enter the plane.

Where to stay in Oslo

A majority of Oslo's hotels and smaller accommodations cluster along Karl Johans Gate, the city's main drag connecting many of its downtown attractions. If you want something a bit more colorful than the average hotel, consider one of the many bed and breakfasts that have been cropping up in recent years. To escape the crowded streets, but still be walking distance from major sights, stay in the Frogner or Majorstuen neighborhoods near the royal palace. As you can probably guess, lodging is quite expensive in this European capital.
