Where to stay in Oslo

A majority of Oslo's hotels and smaller accommodations cluster along Karl Johans Gate, the city's main drag connecting many of its downtown attractions. If you want something a bit more colorful than the average hotel, consider one of the many bed and breakfasts that have been cropping up in recent years. To escape the crowded streets, but still be walking distance from major sights, stay in the Frogner or Majorstuen neighborhoods near the royal palace. As you can probably guess, lodging is quite expensive in this European capital.

  • Very fascinating place, especially when the hall is empty. The frescoes in combination with the quietness and acoustic is worth a visit. During the stay you will notice new details all the time.
  • Absolutely fantastic mausoleum. The secrecy of this place makes it even more worthwhile. The length of the visit really is up to you, and although I didn't get a personal tour, I definitely think it would be worth the extra kroner. A must for everyone who wants a less touristy "museum" in Oslo!
  • Incredible. No photos allowed but take a seat in the middle of the space and shut your eyes. Nothing quite like it!
  • Amazing place with wonderful concerts and beautiful paintings :)
  • Very unique atmosphere!
